Field Notes are firsthand travel recommendations for and by our ECT Clubhouse members. Get the lowdown on destinations across the globe from travelers and locals alike. This week, Ashley Galvin, owner of Homestead Modern, shares her highlights in Joshua Tree.

Hi all, Ashley here from Homestead Modern. I’m excited to share a bit about The Bungalows, our premiere accommodation in the northwest corner of Joshua Tree, and a bit about the surrounding area. Joshua Tree brings in excellent views for hiking, sitting out by a campfire, and stargazing. You can also find unique shops and yoga classes within this small town in the High Desert area off Highway 62.

Drink

The Tiny Pony - I highly recommend trying the cocktails at The Tiny Pony and their appetizers. It has random artwork and photos all around including a photobooth and pool table.

Eat

DEZ - The best way to end your stay is to stop at DEZ for an iced latte and pastry. Each coffee shop is unique, with notable locals who enjoy getting to know everyone who comes in and putting a smile on their guests’/clients’ faces.

Do

Set a course to drive through or hike within the Joshua Tree National Park. Hiking gear is necessary to visit the national park. Even the most experienced hikers have had their fair share of troubles while hiking the grounds. It is always best to be prepared with the essentials.
